Question: Can I search within a town as well as in my postcode area?
Yes. The search control box allows you to enter a town name
or a postcode. In the case of duplicate town names,
a list of the appropriate postcodes for each town
will be displayed for further selection. In the case
of a postcode search, you only have to know the first block of postcode letters/numbers eg
EC1 or PO6 to search the eLooker directory.
Question: Which is better? A town search or a Postcode search?
In the case of large towns having multiple postcodes, the starting point of a search will use the most
central postcode for the search. In the case of small towns or villages, there is very little difference between
entering the first 3 digits of the postcode or the town name.
However, a full postcode will always produce the most accurate search results.
Question: If I enter a partial town (i.e. 'south') what will happen?
eLooker will allow partial names and present a list for further selection if more than one town matches the
name searched. However, if only one town matches the partial name entered, elooker will
continue using this town in the search.
Question: If I enter a partial name (i.e. 'lloyd') what will happen?
eLooker will search for all businesses containing the partial name entered.
Question: If I spot an entry that I know to be incorrect, or if I want to add a business to the directory, how do I do it?
